I haven't seen anyone talking about the Swedish approach to Covid-19 in the last week or so, have you?
I'll say it again: I am glad they tried to stay open. It gave us a data point to watch.
That data point is now clear: Lockdown was the correct approach.
The second data points are the USA, UK and Brazil.
Those data points tell us clearly: Lockdown was the correct approach.
Those countries that locked down now need to keep vigilant and make sure they get the longer term benefits of the Lockdown they started with. That's not going so well for my home country, South Africa, which has the co-mordibities of AIDS, TB, poverty, a corrupt government and winter to contend with. But it is still better that we locked down for some time than if we hadn't.
Stay safe. Stay sane.
